Because every piece we make is created specifically for you, our returns policy reflects the bespoke nature of what we do.


We believe in complete transparency — including on the question of returns. Please read this page carefully before placing your order.

Bespoke and custom-made jewellery cannot be returned.

Every ring we make at 88Facets.com is created specifically for the client who ordered it — with a stone selected for that commission, set in a metal and design chosen for that person, sized and finished to individual specification. By their nature, these pieces cannot be resold or reallocated to another client.

Under European consumer law, the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods that are clearly personalised or made to the consumer's specifications. Our bespoke and custom-made jewellery falls within this exception.

Legal basis: Directive 2011/83/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on consumer rights, Article 16(c) — which provides that the right of withdrawal shall not apply to contracts for the supply of goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised. This includes all rings made to a specific design brief, any piece where a stone has been selected and set for your order, rings sized to your specification, and any item with personalised engraving or customised design elements.

This represents the great majority of what we make. Before any custom order is confirmed, we review the brief with you in detail — ensuring you are fully informed and confident in your decision before production begins.

If you have any uncertainty about a design, a stone, or a specification, please raise it before your order is confirmed. We would rather spend more time in consultation than have you receive something that is not exactly right.
In-stock & standard items
14-day return window

For any item purchased directly from our in-stock collection — where no customisation, sizing, or stone selection has been made — you have the right to return the item within 14 days of receipt, in accordance with EU consumer law.

The item must be returned in its original, unworn condition, in its original packaging, with all documentation intact. Return shipping costs are borne by the buyer unless the item is faulty.

If you are unsure whether your order qualifies as a standard or custom item, contact us before placing the order and we will confirm in writing.

When something is not right

The no-return policy for custom pieces does not affect your statutory rights in the event that an item is faulty, materially different from what was agreed, or damaged in transit. In any of these circumstances, we will remedy the situation fully and at no cost to you.

Contact us within 48 hours
Email info@88facets.com with a description of the issue and clear photographs of the piece and its packaging. The sooner we hear from you, the faster we can act.

We assess and confirm
We will review your photographs and respond within one business day. If the issue is confirmed, we will arrange secure collection of the piece at our cost.

Repair, replacement, or refund
Depending on the nature of the issue, we will offer repair, replacement, or a full refund — whichever is most appropriate. We do not dispute legitimate statutory claims.

Can a custom piece be exchanged?

We do not offer like-for-like exchanges on custom orders as a matter of policy. However, we understand that circumstances change. If you have received a custom piece and wish to discuss options — whether because of a change in taste, a change in relationship, or something else entirely — please contact us directly. We will always explore what is possible, even when we are not obligated to do so.

What clients ask us

I ordered the wrong size — can I return it?

No — but you do not need to. Every ring we make comes with free resizing within the first year of purchase. If the ring does not fit correctly when it arrives, contact us and we will arrange collection, resizing, and return delivery at no cost. This is part of our standard service.

What if the ring looks different from what I expected?

For bespoke commissions, we provide CAD renderings and, where appropriate, wax models before production begins. If a finished piece materially differs from the agreed design specification, that is a fault on our part and we will remedy it fully. If the piece matches the specification but your taste has changed, that falls outside our returns policy — which is why we invest so much time in the consultation stage.

The ring was a gift and does not suit the recipient — what can we do?

Please contact us directly. While we cannot offer a formal return on a custom piece, we will always explore what options are available. In some cases, significant redesign or resetting may be possible. These conversations are handled with discretion and without judgment.

How do I know if my item is custom or standard?

If a stone has been selected for your order, if the ring has been sized to your measurement, or if any design element has been specified by you — it is a custom order and the no-return policy applies. If you are purchasing an unaltered, in-stock piece at its standard specification, the 14-day return window applies. If you are unsure, contact us and we will confirm in writing before you commit.
